Jer's Birthday

The only thing Jer wanted for his birthday this year was to go camping. I didn't think Adda and I would be able to go with him because it's starting to get cold outside. Luckily for him, the weekend of Jer's birthday the weather was perfect for camping so we all went and brought our friends Duncan and Lynzi with us. Jer was like a little kid on Christmas morning the whole time. Adda stayed plenty warm through the night and seemed to like camping every bit as much as her dad. I, on the other hand, didn't sleep one wink, but was glad Jer had a good time on his birthday. You can be sure though that we will not be going camping for my birthday haha. We all enjoyed sitting around the campfire and talking a long drive up the gorgeous canyon. After we got home Jer and I went to a play at the Hale Centre Theatre. Cass and Dustin had given us a gift card there for Christmas last year and we finally were able to use it. It was a blast! We really enjoyed ourselves. Kimber was nice enough to watch Adda so we could have some one-on-one time. For Jer's birthday dinner we had the traditional sloppy joes and fries (his family's tradition). He also requested Jello cake for his birthday cake so I made that too. Happy birthday Jer! We love you!

There were probably a million cows in our campsite when we got there so we ran them out. Unfortunately after we went to bed they thought they could come back. Around midnight we were surrounded by loudly mooing cows. Jer thought it was great...I did not. Haha. Duncan ran them out again and thankfully they stayed out.

He's an old man! Haha;-)

2 and 3 month update...

I got a little busy around Adda's 2 month birthday with moving into our new apartment, Kimber's homecoming, California, and Adda's blessing, so I'll just give you a combined update on her 3 month birthday:-)
2 Months...

Weight: 9 lbs 6 oz...12th percentile
Height: 22.25 inches...40th percentile
Shots...3 in the legs:-(

3 Months...

Adda loves...
sleeping 8 hours at night
chewing (or I guess gumming) her fist
her left hand (we think she's going to be left handed)
flying up high on daddy's hand
cuddling with mom
fitting into 0-3 month clothes (finally)
baths
smiling
cooing
giggling

Adda is such an angel and we are so lucky to have her in our family!

Adda's Blessing Day

We decided to have Adda blessed on the same Sunday that Kim gave her homecoming talk in St. George. It was a busy weekend, but nice to have so much family in town for her blessing. Thanks for sharing your day Kim! Jeremy gave Addalynne a beautiful blessing. I'm so grateful he is worthy to bless her. Among many other things he blessed her to be an "older sibling of many". Guess we'll be having a few more kids:-) She was incredibly peaceful all day long; I think she had angels surrounding her on her special day. Shellie made her a perfectly simple yet beautiful blessing dress and a gorgeous blanket for her blessing day too. We are so grateful she was willing to make them for Adda. Thanks Shellie!

My home away from home...California

I LOVE California so much! I was so happy we were able to go with my family the week after Kim got home from Argentina. We opted to fly instead of drive out with my family due to the less than fun car ride back from North Dakota only a couple weeks before. Adda did great on the plane ride out and back. She's quite the experienced traveler for such a little thing:-) We rented a house near the beach and spent most of our time there on the beach. We of course made time to hang out with Greg and Connie and their kids and a trip to the Cheesecake Factory in San Diego too. Jer, Adda, and I did a little sight seeing in San Diego while the rest of the group went to the temple. All in all it was a fantastic trip and I can't wait till we get to go back next summer with Christian!
We got to the beach just in time to see Rylee driving her sand car

Classic dad at the beach look

Adda wasn't so sure about her hat

She liked putting her toes in the water

Hangin out with Ry while everyone else went out in the ocean

we had a contest to see who could fit the most grapes in their mouth...Jer won:-)

Ry didn't quite get the concept of "open wide" so we could see the grapes
