Adda's Blessing Day
We decided to have Adda blessed on the same Sunday that Kim gave her homecoming talk in St. George. It was a busy weekend, but nice to have so much family in town for her blessing. Thanks for sharing your day Kim! Jeremy gave Addalynne a beautiful blessing. I'm so grateful he is worthy to bless her. Among many other things he blessed her to be an "older sibling of many". Guess we'll be having a few more kids:-) She was incredibly peaceful all day long; I think she had angels surrounding her on her special day. Shellie made her a perfectly simple yet beautiful blessing dress and a gorgeous blanket for her blessing day too. We are so grateful she was willing to make them for Adda. Thanks Shellie!
My home away from home...California
I LOVE California so much! I was so happy we were able to go with my family the week after Kim got home from Argentina. We opted to fly instead of drive out with my family due to the less than fun car ride back from North Dakota only a couple weeks before. Adda did great on the plane ride out and back. She's quite the experienced traveler for such a little thing:-) We rented a house near the beach and spent most of our time there on the beach. We of course made time to hang out with Greg and Connie and their kids and a trip to the Cheesecake Factory in San Diego too. Jer, Adda, and I did a little sight seeing in San Diego while the rest of the group went to the temple. All in all it was a fantastic trip and I can't wait till we get to go back next summer with Christian!
We got to the beach just in time to see Rylee driving her sand car
Classic dad at the beach look
Adda wasn't so sure about her hat

She liked putting her toes in the water

Hangin out with Ry while everyone else went out in the ocean
we had a contest to see who could fit the most grapes in their mouth...Jer won:-)
Ry didn't quite get the concept of "open wide" so we could see the grapes

I love this picture!
Pretty impressive
The Goates sure loved Adda
Just lounging with Matthew
Kimber is HOME!
So this is like a month over due, but in case you haven't heard...KIMBER IS HOME! We were so excited to see her come off the plane on September 1st and spend most of the next week with her. She hasn't changed a bit:-) That's a good thing. I remember thinking when I was on my mission that my mission was for me...I was the one who needed me to go on a mission because I needed to change a lot to become the best me I could be. For Kimber I think her mission was more for the people she served because she was already such a great person when she left. I'm glad she came back the same Kimber as when she left. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures at the airport, but we did take some of the goodies she brought back from Argentina. Welcome home Kim, we're so happy you are back!
Coming home and Mt. Rushmore
We had a blast in North Dakota, but were ready to come home after our 3 week stay there. The ride home was less than fun with Adda screaming a good portion of the way, but we survived and made it all the way to St. George in two days. That is one drive I do not want to repeat...ever. Adda was a trooper, but her poor tiny body just didn't handle the ride very well. We took her to a chiropractor when we got back and after that she was our happy little girl again. On the first day of driving we made a pit stop at Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota because neither of us had been. I was SO impressed by it! Adda slept against my chest most of the time we were there, but she was happy to be out of the car seat for sure. We stayed the night at my aunt and uncle's house in Casper again and enjoyed some super yummy homemade ice cream. Thanks Craig and Jo Lynn for spoiling us! The second day we made a stop in Salt Lake to see my old co-workers at Myriad and in Provo to see our new apartment. We were debating whether or not to spend the night up north before heading to St. George because Adda was SO done being in the car. We decided just to push through though and get the driving done. Adda must have exhausted herself because she slept soundly the entire way to St. George basically. We were thrilled to not have a screaming baby for the last leg of our trip home. We spent a little over a week in St. George with family and friends before heading to Provo and back to real life.
The car is packed and we're ready to go!
Adda is ready to come back to Utah
She's contemplating the amazing sculpture in the mountain

This is exactly how she looked the entire hour or so we were at Mt. Rushmore
Such a kid at heart
My personal favorite part of Mt. Rushmore:)
